Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer pointed to the great responsibility that falls on the security and police authorities in preserving the security and stability of the society’s digital life, especially that the world relies primarily on technology, which allows fraudsters to negatively exploit it, which forces police to intensify protection measures with innovative, advanced awareness-raising methods that prevent falling into scams, fraud and extortion in all forms.

The “Be Aware” awareness platform includes 6 interactive stations: the electronic blackmail station, the telephone fraud station, the electronic scam station, the digital plagiarism station, and the hacking station, in addition to the interactive electronic games station designated for children, as they are the most important target group in the awareness campaign, and given the great demand among children for technological games without being aware of the serious consequences in this area.

The platform also includes a corner for awareness programmes and workshops dedicated to school students, in cooperation with the Emirates Foundation for School Education.
Sharjah Police invited all members of society to visit its awareness platform in City Centre Al Zahiafrom 10 am to 10 pm, over the course of 10 days, to learn about the risks they may face if they are exposed to electronic blackmail and fraud, and ways to prevent them.
