Sharjah 24: The Board of Directors of the Sharjah Charity International (SCI), headed by Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the board, during its recent meeting at the Society’s main headquarters, reviewed the latest developments in its projects inside and outside the UAE.
The meeting reviewed the arrangements for the ninth mass wedding project that it is organising inside and outside the country, in which 150 grooms will be wedded in the UAE and the similar number in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

In the context of foreign relief programmes, the meeting approved AED1.5 –million-“Somalia Relief”- aid campaign , which will be carried out through 3 successive stages. The financial value allocated to the campaign. The meeting also agreed to launch the “Winter Relief in Syria” campaign before the begining of winter. In addition, the meeting approved the establishment of mosques in new areas in the Emirate of Sharjah, in accordance with the internal expansion plan for the Society’s work and its various programmes.

The latest developments regarding the opening of the SCI’s office in the Arab Republic of Egypt were also addressed at the meeting.

The meeting also discussed the development of the Society’s electronic systems, the adoption of the plan to develop the website and the Society’s application on smart phones, achievements on the ground in governance programmes, internal and external auditing, and the approval of the new building of the Society’s administration in the Al Modam area.

At the close of the meeting, the members of the Society’s Board of Directors thanked His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his role in supporting humanitarian work.
