Sharjah24: Professor Dr. Ahmed Shamma'a, Director of the University of Khorfakkan stated that the University of Sharjah in collaboration with the University of Khorfakkan organised the 4th Forum for Women in Scientific Research, which is being held at the University of Khorfakkan on August 30 and 31, focusing on a variety of subjects related to the work of female researchers. The Forum included a dialogue session highlighitng several topics that motivate Arab women scientists to present researches and patents.
According to statements made exclusively to "Sharjah 24" by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al Shamma'a, the research on marine science programs was one of the topics covered during the forum on its second day, stressing that the University of Khorfakkan is the only university in the Arab world to offer marine sciences, encouraging women scientists to present marine scientific researches.
During the session, Al Shamma'a emphasised that very few Arab women scientists have applied for patents for their inventions, though Arab women scientists were urged to file patents for their inventions. The process for filing patent applications for inventions was described, along with how the institution will assist its students in submitting them.
