Sharjah 24: In preparation for the competitions of the new sports season for the Special Olympics players, at Al Thiqah Club, the club organised a physical and technical preparation programme for the club’s players to reach the desired level of competition in all tournaments.
Ahmed Salem Al Mazloum Al Suwaidi confirmed that Al Thiqah Club for Disabled always seeks to compete in all tournaments, so the club’s board of directors works to provide all means of support to implement the latest technical and physical programmes, under the supervision of qualified trainers, at the highest levels, to qualify the club’s players to compete in all local and international tournaments.
In the same context, Mohammed Bukhati, General Supervisor of Mental Disability, confirmed that the physical and skill preparation programme for players, which extends from August 27 to September 21, passes through several stages under the supervision of trainers, at the highest level of competence.
He continued by saying that the first stage of the programme includes measuring weight, speed, physical fitness, and endurance; the second stage includes the general physical preparation period; and the third stage includes tests to determine the technical and physical levels of the players, and develop individual and qualifying plans for the players to reach the desired levels of physical and technical fitness to participate in the upcoming local and international competitions.
