Sharjah 24: Under the patronage and presence of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar Governorate, and within the framework of the Salalah Fall season organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in the Sultanate of Oman, “Sheikh Al Abyad,” an adaptation of the novel written by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, was presented on stage, on Tuesday.
This came in the presence of Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Department of Culture, Ahmed Burahima, Director of Theatre Department at the Department of Culture, a number of officials in Dhofar Governorate, and a large audience who flocked to attend the show of the play in Salalah.
The play was presented at the “Ubar” Theatre. It was prepared and directed by Imad Al Shanfari and presented by the Salalah Arts Troupe, with a mixture of performance and visual solutions.
After the end of the show, His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said praised the efforts of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in supporting Arab culture and expressed his happiness with the theatrical performance adapted from the novel “Sheikh Al Abyad,” and the keenness of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to present it in the Sultanate of Oman and in conjunction with the fall of Salalah, praising the fraternal relations between the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman.
Dr. Imad Al Shanfari also expressed his pride in presenting the play, praising the artistic and additions made by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah. Dr. Imad Al Shanfari said that the Arab theatre sees a remarkable renaissance and a broad theatrical movement at the local level in the UAE, the Gulf and the Arab world, thanks to the care and support that His Highness gives to theatre.
Dr. Imad Al Shanfari added that the Emirate of Sharjah played a prominent role in supporting the theatrical movement in the Arab world and the Gulf region, extending support to all its artists.
