In attendance were dignitaries such as His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Kaabi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Benin, and Her Excellency Amal Afifi, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Benin. Also present were the General Coordinator of the forum, Ibrahim Aghboun, and heads of various Arab diplomatic missions. The event was further graced by university professors, institute representatives, students, and fervent enthusiasts of Arab poetry.
Ibrahim Aghboun initiated the event with an opening speech in which he underscored the vital role of Sharjah in championing and elevating the Arabic language within West African nations. Gratitude was expressed towards His Highness, Ruler of Sharjah, for nurturing and supporting such events that augment the presence of the Arabic language within the Republic of Benin.
Subsequently, His Excellency Al Kaabi took the floor to deliver an address in which he emphasised the robustness of the existing bilateral relations between the UAE and the Republic of Benin, with a particular focus on the cultural domain. He eloquently articulated how the forum serves as a catalyst for the enrichment of the cultural and literary landscape of Benin.
