The elections took place in two rounds, in which His Excellency Sultan Mohammed Khalifa Al Yahyai and Prince Abdullah bin Fahd Al Saud, President of the Saudi Equestrian Federation, competed.

His Excellency won ten votes in the second round, and Prince Abdullah bin Fahd Al Saud won eight votes. 

The second round took place because of a tie in the first round. 

His Excellency received nine votes in the first round and Prince Abdullah bin Fahd Al Saud received nine votes.

His Excellency Al Yahyai expressed happiness with this Emirati achievement, which reflects the global confidence that the UAE has reached because of its wise leadership.

His Excellency gave his thanks, appreciation and gratitude for the precious confidence bestowed on him by the voters of the Arab federations in the Regional Group 7.
