The workshop was presented by Maljudata Autry, a certified organisation specialist in the company, and with the participation of 57 beneficiaries, including 24 guardians and 33 girls affiliated with the foundation.
The workshop is part of the environmental empowerment programmes concerned with providing an appropriate residential environment for orphans and their families, one of the priorities that the foundation is keen to provide to its members, as the living environment reflects a positive impact on their mental health.
The workshop discussed many important topics including the basics of home interior design, home arrangement, choosing appropriate lighting and furniture that serve the space, colours, correct storing methods for household items and other elements that add psychological comfort and create a harmonious atmosphere at home.
The workshop included practical exercises to identify personality types and the significance of each style and its impact on the participants to identify the pros and cons of each personality and to come up with practical solutions to help them create an attractive environment at home.
Aisha Salem, Head of the Social Research Department, said that home is a safe haven in where orphans spend most of the day, therefore the foundation has paid great attention to the home environment, and efforts are devoted through environmental empowerment programmes to provide a protective, healthy, and suitable residential environment for the families affiliated with the foundation; and environmental programmes that provide basic services that attract orphans to the home, and achieve acceptance of their situation and reality.
Maljudata Autry expressed her gratitude to be part of this wonderful initiative, and a joint cooperation between Home Harmony and SSEF. She said that the workshop is stimulating thinking and creativity, and revealed the patterns of the participants’ personalities to find that the art of organising is diverse.
Maljudata Autry stated that the workshop sparked participants enthusiasm to discover their organising personality patterns, and learned the deep relationship between external chaos and its impact on their inner calm, through practical applications and sharing ideas that revealed the secrets of a harmonious existence, proving that a tidy home is the key to a clutter-free mind, and participants left not only with a deep understanding of coordinated spaces but also with a toolkit of strategies for turning their dwellings into personal havens of calm.
The SSEF adopts a series of different awareness-raising workshops within the environmental empowerment programmes, in which it involves community members to participate in providing programmes on environmental awareness, aimed at raising the level of general awareness of families, acquiring enhanced skills, educating orphan families, and instilling sound environmental values by highlighting a number of issues and topics finding and creating a happy, healthy and harmonious home.
