Sharjah 24: The Friends of Arthritis Patients launched its summer campaign, at Dibba Al Hisn beach, on July 31st, with the participation of more than 150 individuals who walked on the beach of Dibba Al Hisn.
The campaign was launched in the presence of Her Excellency Waheeda Abdulaziz, Chairperson of Friends of Arthritis Patients; Ahmed Al Hosani, Director General of the Sharjah International Club for Marine Sports; Mohammed Rashid Rashoud, Chairman of the Dibba Al Hisn Parents Council; a delegation of Sharjah Sports Council and members of the Board of Directors.
The campaign aims to educate community members on the importance of practicing sports by holding community awareness programmes in different Sharjah locations, targeting males from 7-12 years old.
It is worth noting that the campaign highlighted awareness of arthritis, and the need to unite efforts to raise awareness and help patients to face its challenges successfully. It also aims to educate patients through lectures and events about the importance of walking, nutrition, and conducting free examinations accompanying the event.
Her Excellency Waheeda Abdulaziz, Chairperson of Friends of Arthritis Patients, expressed her happiness at launching the campaign, which is considered a continuation of raising awareness among arthritis patients, within the directives of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, who is keen to provide a healthy and supportive environment for patients in Sharjah.
Her Excellency Waheeda Abdulaziz indicated that campaign is one of the means to make a positive change in society, by mobilising support for patients, and at the same time maintaining physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle, which is one of the goals of the event.
Waheeda Abdulaziz appreciated the great cooperation provided by many government institutions, private companies, and community personalities for the event, especially the strategic supporter of the event Sharjah International Marine Sports Club. She confirmed that this effective partnership contributes to enabling the association to continue its path and strengthen its programmes.
