Sharjah24: The Sharjah Modern Sailing Team of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club has departed for Morocco to participate in the 15th edition of the International Maritime Festival in Rabat and the 19th edition of the International Maritime Week in the Strait of Gibraltar, being held under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, King of Morocco from July 18th to 28th. The team members were pleased to represent the country and the emirate of Sharjah, wishing to achieve further accomplishments in the country’s sports record.
The delegation was led by Humaid Al Kindi, a member of the club's board of directors, accompanied by Ahmed Al Hosani, the club's general manager and the supervisor of the delegation, alongside with the administrative and coaching staff, as well as the team's champions in the Optimist category (9 to 13 years old). .
Humaid Al Kindi reaffirmed the team's readiness and aspirations to raise the country’s flag the UAE's flag high in both competitions.
On the sidelines of the championships, he has further highlighted the significance of holding a number of coordination meetings with different sports Moroccan Federations, enhancing mutual cooperation between the two sides with promoting joint work towards future development of marine sports in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The players expressed their happiness to participate in this international sporting event, emphasising their commitment to achieve the desired goals.
