Sharjah24: For the second year in a row, the "Skills Lab" has been hosted as part of the "Sharjah Youth" initiatives of the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators.
The "Your Summer with Us 2023" event included a lab that was held in the Central and Khor Fakkan Youth Centres. It comprises creative initiatives geared towards identifying and nurturing young people's innate abilities as well as providing them with a nurturing setting in which to grow and flourish.
On July 17, 2023, Dr Abdulrahman Al-Yassi, director of Sharjah Youth, and Ayman Osman Al-Barout, secretary general of the Arab Parliament for Children, attended the opening of the Skills Lab at the Central Youth Centre. Directors of youth facilities in Sharjah and participants in the third session of the Arab Parliament for Children were there.
The Skills Lab's mission is to equip young people by helping them acquire marketable skills. It provides all-encompassing courses in the sciences, humanities, and professions. The lab's 32 different activities include the performing arts, visual arts, sciences, technologies, movies, and more and are organised into seven distinct categories. The programme's objective is to help young people develop their skills and abilities so that they may take positions of leadership and creativity in their communities.
Arab children's parliament members have praised the lab for its remarkable activities and programmes. They were grateful to Sharjah Youth for hosting them and helping young people in the area develop their interests and abilities in STEM.
