Sharjah24: To encourage sustainable sports, Mleiha Club players and members distributed 1,000 saplings. Their attempt emphasises sports' role in community awareness, sports-society links, and long-term goals in their most appealing forms.
The sustainability ambassadors of Mleiha Club planned the event to coincide with Sustainability Week, the Sharjah Sports Council, and leadership's 2023 sustainability emphasis. To encourage sustainable sports, participants, parents, and club members handed out 1,000 agriculture seedlings and over 5,000 awareness pamphlets.
Participants in Mleiha Club's summer activities and their parents were drawn to the programme since seedlings were offered for their houses. This initiative aims to enhance the local environment, highlight the importance of agriculture, and promote green areas as part of long-term sustainability goals.
Participants learned about seedlings and how to plant and care for them, pledging to water and nourish them as they grew.
Mansour Rashid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Youth Sustainability Council, stated that Mleiha Club's distribution of these seedlings demonstrates its commitment to environmental awareness, agriculture, and its worth. It contributes to their environmental activism and sports roles.
He stated that this effort encourages sustainability, environmental awareness, and the preservation and growth of trees and plants. Mleiha Club's sustainability team creates green spaces and involves players and individuals in community awareness activities.
