The Khorfakkan Sports and Cultural Club announced the launch of the "Passport to Sustainability" programme, in the presence of His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), and His Excellency Salem Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Club's Board of Directors, which will be granted to the members of the Sharjah Summer Sports Camp "Our Holiday Is Different”.
The summer camp began its activities on Monday, and will continue until August 3, with the participation of 120 affiliates from the city of Khorfakkan aging 7-13 years old. The summer camp offers more than 40 workshops and training courses, within a comprehensive and diverse sustainability programme adopted by the Khorfakkan Club.
The programme includes sports exercises, and cultural, artistic and electronic workshops, in addition to raising the awareness of affiliates about the basics of sustainability of various sectors, national priorities. The programme includes tours and entertainment trips in partnership with a group of the best agencies, institutions and talented individuals.
The club focuses, this year, during the summer vacation, on making the best use of the holiday by training young people, introducing them to skills, expanding their perceptions, and developing their talents and capabilities in a sustainable manner in ten main topics, which are: the right start for sports sustainability; environmental sustainability and food security; the first step in smart sustainability; resource sustainability and recycling; the sustainability of popular heritage; the definition of health sustainability; the development and sustainability of craft, artistic and media skills; sustainable tourism; sustainable resources and facilities; and the sustainability of sports talents.
