Sharjah 24: The Health Promotion Department at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) honoured the participants of the "Wazin" programme in the presence of Her Excellency Eman Rashid Saif, Director of the Department.
The initiative is one of the prominent initiatives within the Wazin programme, which focuses on employee health.
Around 100 Sharjah Government employees participated in the challenge. Free nutritional consultations were provided by Medcare Hospital.
The participants were regularly monitored for a duration of 6 months by a nutrition specialist and provided with a balanced diet and exercise plan.
The first-place winner in the male category managed to lose approximately 19 kilograms, while the second-place winner in the female category lost 17 kilograms. Furthermore, there were 4 participants who managed to lose more than 13 kilograms.
The Wazin programme includes numerous initiatives and activities for employee health and safety. It aims to familiarise employees with the principles of a healthy lifestyle, promote proper nutrition culture, and highlight its impact on work productivity in a more efficient manner.
Eman Rashid Saif, Director of the Health Promotion Department at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, stated: "The development of scientific plans for the Wazin programme reflects the commitment of the Health Promotion Department to continue its efforts in achieving the programme's objectives, enhancing employee health, and providing a supportive health environment in the workplace."
At the ceremony held at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs’s thatre in Sharjah, gratitude was expressed to the sponsors, supporters, participants in the programme, and Medcare Hospital for their support of the challenge.
