Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, represented by the Organisational Committee for Border Ports and Points confirmed that the land ports of the Emirate of Sharjah at Khatmat Milaha border in Kalba, the western and eastern ports at Dibba Al Hisn, and Al Madam border, are fully set to receive visitors arriving and departing during Eid Al Adha holiday.
Members of the organising committee a presentation on the existing preparations, during the sixth periodic meeting for 2023, chaired by His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Border Ports and Points Affairs, Chairman of the Organising Committee for Ports and Border Points in the Emirate of Sharjah, and a number of dignitaries.
At the outset of the meeting, the chairman and members of the committee expressed their congratulations to the wise leadership of the UAE and its people, on the occasion of the advent of Eid Al Adha.
The Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Sharjah government for providing all capabilities to improve the performance of the ports and border points in Sharjah and for the diligent follow-up to improve the quality of services provided in this vital sector. His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi idicated that the proactive plans included in the work strategy of the Organising Committee for Ports and Border Points contributed to accommodating half a million passengers during the month at the four border crossings. The Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs praised the coordination between all partners and its successful role in overcoming challenges at all times.
It is noteworthy that the Organising Committee for Ports and Border Points was established and organised by Executive Council Resolution No. (30) for the year 2020. Membership includes the competent authorities operating in the ports and border points; and aims to strengthen cooperation and coordination mechanisms to ensure the activation of security, customs and preventive controls and procedures and regulate the movement of entry and exit of people and goods.
