Sharjah 24: The organising committee for the border checkpoints and points of entry in Sharjah recently held its fourth annual meeting for 2023. The purpose of the meeting was to ensure the readiness of all border authorities and checkpoints in the emirate of Sharjah to receive waves of visitors and travelers during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
At the remote meeting, which was chaired by Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs and Chairman of the Organising Committee of the ports and Border Checkpoints, the committee members and attendees, congratulated the UAE wise leadership on the upcoming Eid Al Fitr. They also congratulated both the Arab and Islamic nations and the citizens and residents of the UAE, wishing them continued security, prosperity, and well-being.
The committee also discussed the current preparations underway by operational agencies at the border checkpoints and points of entry in Sharjah, including the Khattam Malaha border crossing in Kalba and the eastern and western Dibba border checkpoints, as well as the Madam checkpoint, to receive incoming and outgoing waves of travelers during the Eid Al Fitr holiday.
Al Raisi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the committee members and all the stakeholders, including strategic partners, for their invaluable efforts. He emphasised the regulatory committee's commitment to providing all forms of support to enable these entities to fully play their role, deliver top-notch services to travelers, and take all necessary measures to facilitate their enjoyment of the festive atmosphere in the UAE. Furthermore, he highlighted the committee's determination to ensure seamless entry for goods and commercial shipments in line with the highest standards.
According to Al Raisi, the committee has come up with a creative strategy to handle the anticipated crowds and traffic, while also assigning support and aid teams. He underscored that all ports and border points are fully prepared to overcome any challenges that may arise during this period, given their ongoing efforts to provide the necessary facilities to improve the performance of all ports and border points in the Emirates.
During the meeting, the committee delved into various topics pertaining to the growth of the ports sector in Sharjah. This discussion was held against the backdrop of the Sharjah government's unwavering support and persistent drive towards bolstering and augmenting the overall efficacy of all ports in the Emirate.
