Sharjah24: Al Qassimi Hospital announced the use of the "Makoto-Infraredx" for scanning and sound waves to diagnose coronary arteriosclerosis disease for the first time in the Middle East.
The new device helps diagnose and evaluate the stiffness of the coronary arteries, particularly determining the amounts of fat and its danger to the heart and predicting heart attacks early, which contributes to avoiding complications and acute strokes.
Dr. Aref Al Nouriani, Director of Al Qassimi Hospital, explained that the Food and Drug Administration approves the device and is the only one that allows both scanning and ultrasound technologies simultaneously.
