Al Qasimia University graduates 69 students in 3 programmes

Sharjah 24: Al Qasimia University, in cooperation with the Labour Standards Development Authority (LSDA) of the Government of Sharjah, celebrated the graduates of the training programmess in the field of labour management, which were launched recently as a contribution to developing national leadership competencies for the labour sector. The training programmes come as an implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed between Al Qasimia University and LSDA to enhance cooperation in the field of training, qualification and human resources development aiming at achieving an attractive work environment for workers and employers in the Emirate of Sharjah.
In the presence of Salem Youssef Al Qaseer, Chairman of LSDA, and Prof. Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University, 69 male and female employees from the public and private sectors had received a number of training programmes, at the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development at Al Qasimia University, in the fields of labour management, labourers premises management, and managing labour crises in cooperation with LSDA. The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Director of LSDA, a large number of officials of the authority and members of the teaching and administrative staff at Al Qasimia University.

In his speech at the graduation ceremony, Salem Al Qaseer, congratulated the graduates, advised them to apply their gained knowledge in their facilities to contribute to the development of the work environment. 

He described the programmes are the first fruitful cooperation between Al Qasimia University and LSDA, aiming at training and qualifying national leadership competencies for the labourr sector. He stressed that LSDA attaches special importance to training and qualification in order to meet the needs of the labuor market.

Al Qaseer pointed that His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, ordered the establishment of the Labour Standards Development Authority to contribute to the advancement of the human being, whether a worker or an employee, and to enhance the work environment befitting the human being. 

In conclusion, Al Qaseer thanked Al Qasimia University and the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development at Al Qasimia University, for their sincere efforts in qualifying the graduates, calling on officials in the public and private sectors to encourage their employees to enroll in such important training programmes that contribute to improving the work environment.

Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Director, congratulated the graduates, wishing them more success, calling on them to apply the skills they acquired at Al Qasimia University to improve the work environment in their respective facilities. Prof. Dr. Awad Al Khalaf stressed that these important programmes were the result of the partnerships that Al Qasimia University holds with the government and private sectors to continue its academic and educational role by qualifying national human professionals and developing an attractive and sustainable work environment in line with the directions of the Emirate of Sharjah.

Al Khalaf stated in his speech, that the graduation, celebrated by Al Qasimia University and LSDA, is a translation of the university's mission to continue its role in community service, and to consolidate its academic and educational role by offering programmes and training courses, to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member Supreme Council of the, Ruler of Sharjah, Founder of the University, to qualify human professionals to serve the nation.

The trainee, Omar Saif Al Nadas, delivered a speech on behalf of the graduates, where he congratulated his colleagues on their graduation and thanked Al Qasimia University and LSDA for giving them the opportunity to join this distinguished training programme, stressing the importance of what they learned in improving labour management in their facilities.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Chairman of LSDA and the President of the University honoured the participating institutions and trainers, and distributed certificates to graduates.
