Sharjah24: The Board of Trustees of Al Qasimia University (AQU), held the tenth meeting of the Board, at the university's headquarters in Sharjah. Jamal Salem Al Tarifi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al Qasimia University and Univesity's President, chaired the meeting.
The chairman and board members praised the generosity of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Founder of Al Qasimia University, for his continuous support to improve the university's campus via his new investment in new facilities.
The board approved the graduation of the fifth batch of Al Qasimia University students, with a total of 246 graduates, and also approved the university's strategic plan for e-learning.
They discussed several issues related to the development of various educational, academic, and administrative aspects, the approval of several scientific promotions, and the reports of the committees emanating from the board in academic, administrative, and financial affairs.
Prof. Awwad Al Khalaf, the Chancellor of AQU, presented a detailed report on the university's achievements during the spring semester of 2023. He mentioned that the university obtained academic accreditation from the Commission for Academic Accreditation to launch two new programmes, one in readings at the College of the Holy Qur'an and the other in Islamic civilization and history at the College of Arts and Humanities, in addition to receiving the approval to develop three other accredited academic programmes, bringing the number of programmes at the undergraduate level to eight.
