Al Qasimia University honors winners of cultural competitions

Sharjah24: In the presence of Prof. Dr. Awwad Al-Khalaf, Rector of Al Qasimia University, and Prof. Dr. Hassan Al-Malakh, Academic Vice Dean, Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, the College of Arts and Human Sciences organized the closing ceremony of its three cultural competitions: Al-Qasimia Poet, Knights of Reading, and Al-Qasimia Calligrapher, for the academic year 2022-2023.
These competitions come out of Al Qasimia University’s keenness to encourage its students to be creative in the fields of: reciting poetry, promoting conscious reading, improving Arabic calligraphy skills, and providing an ideal cultural environment concerned with adopting young talents from the Al Qasimia University environment full of diversity of nationalities and coexistence of cultures.

Students from universities participated in large numbers in these tournaments as students from the colleges of Arts and Humanities, Sharia and Islamic Studies, and Communication competed in the "Al Qasimia Poet" competition.

In the Al Qasimia Poet Competition, Abdullah Sisi, a student at the Faculty of Sharia from the State of Gambia, won the second place for his poem (Emirates), and the third place was won by student Mamadou Kone, a student at the Faculty of Arts from the State of Mali, while the jury withheld the first place award.

As for the (Al Qasimia Calligrapher) competition, a large number of creative students competed in Arabic calligraphy, with its various types and decorative styles, such as: Kufic, Naskh, Riq’ah, Diwani, Persian, Moroccan, and others.

In the (Knights of Reading) competition, the student Alia Mudassir Khaled, a student at the Faculty of Arts from Syria, won the first place, and Abdullah Jabi, a student at the Faculty of Arts from Mali, won the second place, while the third place was shared equally by: the student Amal Muhammad Awad Allah , a student at the Faculty of Arts from the State of Palestine, and a student, Jama Ulanar Yago Masoud, a student at the Faculty of Economics from the State of Nigeria.
