HQA adds Ya'qut Al Mustasimi ‘s to its rare manuscripts

Sharjah24: The Holy Quran Academy (HQA) in Sharjah has obtained a rare manuscript of the Holy Quran from the 7th century Hijri.

The manuscript was written by Ya'qut al-Musta'simi, a renowned calligrapher and scholar from Baghdad. This valuable historical treasure is well-preserved and offers a unique opportunity for visitors and researchers to explore the history and evolution of Quranic script. 

The manuscript has travelled from Iraq to various locations and is now housed in the Suleymaniye Library in Istanbul. 

The HQA is known for its collection of rare artifacts, ancient Qurans, and historical treasures, which have been generously donated His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. 

Dr Sherzad Abdulrahman Taher, Secretary General of the Holy Qur'an Academy mentioned that the manuscript is considered one of the most important among the writers and literati in Baghdad. The Quranic manuscript is well preserved in excellent condition.
