Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) announced the conversion of two of the stories issued by the authority into Braille, printing them and handing over copies to the Emirates Association of the Visually Impaired, in the presence of Adel Al-Zomur, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, and a team from the Authority’s Conservation Department, which included Moza bin Dakhin, Head of the Education and Awareness Department, and Saif Al-Naqbi.
The move aims to educate the visually impaired group on the importance of rationalising water and electricity consumption and preserving the environment for the benefit of future generations.

The first story was authored Saleha Ghabesh under the title "Beckman, my friend", and the second by Sheikha Maryam Saqr Al Qasimi, titled "The Hour of Conservation", coinciding with the beginning of the promotion for the Conservation Hour initiative launched by the Authority under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to educate society segments about the importance ceasing the use of unnecessary devices at peak times when consumption increases.

Moza bin Dakhin explained that the authority is keen to involve all segments of society in initiatives to rationalise energy and water consumption and achieve sustainability. She added that the category of people with disabilities is among the groups that the authority targets with various activities, as an affirmation of the principle of partnership and social responsibility, praising the cooperation of the Emirates Association of the Visually Impaired with the Authority and SEWA’s support for this category.

Adel Al Zomur praised the initiative of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority to convert the stories into Braille for the blind, which constitutes great support for the efforts of the Association and People with Special Needs aimed at integrating this important group into society.
