Sharjah24: The tenth annual Sharjah School Theatre Festival, held at the Palace of Culture from May 18th to 22nd under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, came to a close on Monday, May 22nd.
Several notable people from the fields of education and theatre were in attendance for the closing ceremony, including Department of Culture Director Abdullah Al-Owais and Festival Director Ahmed Burhaima.
The final round, featuring 15 plays, took place at the Sharjah Institute of Theatre Arts and the Palace of Culture from May 18th to May 22nd.
Artists Ahmed Al Ansari (Chairman) of the United Arab Emirates, Khawlah Al Hadi of Tunisia, and Alaa Shaker of Iraq served as the panel's judges.
The Sharjah School Theatre Festival this year highlighted the impressive abilities of students and teachers alike, highlighting the value of theatre as a medium for self-discovery and creative expression.
There were winners in the acting, playwriting, and directing categories, including teachers from the first, second, and secondary cycles. In addition, the outstanding performances in the categories of ensemble, expressive acting, and special jury awards were recognised and awarded prizes.
