Sharjah24: His Excellency Mohammed Saleh Al Ali, member of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) stressed that the Council on Thursday during its meeting, which was chaired by His Excellency Hanan Rashid Al Jarwan, Vice Chairperson of the Council, discussed the draft law regulating the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), as well as the report submitted by the Health Affairs, Labour and Social Affairs Committee (HALSAC).
According to Member Mohammed Saleh Al Ali, The Sharjah Consultative Council has adopted the draft law regulating the Sharjah Social Services Department. This project strives to ensure providing social welfare and a decent living for individuals and families in society, assisting society's most vulnerable groups and empowering them to access their rights.
In his remarks to reporters of "Sharjah24," Al Ali further emphasised that the project aims to improve social work in the emirate and develop social cohesion and solidarity among people, families, and community organisations. This contributes in empowering individuals in the community to face social challenges, achieve social stability, and improve their conditions.
Her Excellency Afaf Ibrahim Al Marri, Sharjah Executive Council Member and Chairperson of the Sharjah Social Services Department, as well as her assistants, attended the SCC’s 16th session, being held as part of the Council’s regular fourth session of the tenth legislative term. Also present were His Excellency Counselor Isa bin Hanthal, Director of Sharjah Government Legal Department, and his assistants.
