Sharjah 24: The Arab Parliament for the Child (APC), one of the institutions of the Arab League, revealed that the second meeting of the third session, to be held on July, 22, will discuss “The Arab child: a sustainable effort for the climate.”
Discussions of APC members who represent the future voice for the Arab world, will tackle issues related to their vision of the child role and awareness on the climate, and the efforts that shape the vision of the goals of sustainable development for a better life, and its connection to the climate, and its impact on social, environmental, economic and demographic determinants.
Children will give their opinion on the topic that expresses global trends and the role of the Arab countries, through the proceedings of the session, that will give an informed opinion on the child’s understanding of the climate; and reflect the positive image of the child’s participation in the discussion of this important topic, and how it relates to their life their studies, and their outlook on the future in light of these climatic changes.
The session will allow children to present their vision for encouraging reading and raising awareness on the climate issue, and even encouraging the child to be part of sustainability, one of the most pressing issues in the world at the present time. Children are the new generation, and they are more concerned with adopting such topics, as they are the leaders of the future, and thus reaching important recommendations will form a basis for the coming period.
His Excellency Ayman Othman Al Barout, Secretary-General of APC, explained that the next session will be devoted to an important topic: “The Arab child: a sustainable effort for the climate”.
His Excellency Ayman Othman Al Barout pointed out that the meeting title took sustainability into consideration, whereas the Arab child's view is the future, and child participation will set the path of the future according to the child aspirations in dealing with the climate phenomenon. He concluded that the Arab child shall be present and active in all important issues and events.
