EPAA hosts range of activities on World Environment Day

Sharjah 24: World Environment Day is commemorated annually on June 5, and Sharjah's Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) aims to mark the occasion by raising awareness about environmental challenges through a number of outstanding activities and projects.

This year, the Authority has held environmental lectures to enhance public awareness about the perils of plastic on marine life and launched a "Fighting Plastic Pollution" campaign.

Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority, confirmed that June 5th, World Environment Day, is a significant turning point in the Authority's work and activities because it brings attention to critical environmental issues and boosts conservation, protection, and preservation initiatives.

The Authority, in conjunction with the worldwide occasion, presents a series of programming, events, and activities focusing on the value of introducing World Environment Day, community awareness, and the importance of living sustainably in harmony with nature.
