Al Suwaidi: Increasing of living organisms on Sir Bu Nair Island

Sharjah24: The Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah (EPAA), concluded the activities of the 23rd Sir Bu Nair Festival on the 18th and 19th of May, with the participation of a number of government agencies in the Emirate of Sharjah. On this occasion, Her Excellency Hana Saif Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of Environment and Protected Areas Authority stated that the activities of Sir Bu Nair Festival were launched, lauding the concerted efforts of all participating and supporting institutions.

Al Suwaidi added during exclusive statements to "Sharjah 24" that the festival witnessed numerous activities that varied between sports, heritage, and environmental events. She emphasised that every year, the Authority works to improve the festival by launching fresh initiatives that benefit all visitors to Sir Bu Nair Island.

The Chairperson of Environment and Protected Areas Authority further explained that the Authority is currently working on an important program, which is a survey program for the IUCN Green List to assess the development and increase of living organisms on the island. The program aims to identify the transition of endangered species to non-endangered species.
