Sharjah 24: In a remarkable initiative, the first of its kind, a number of community figures signed the Sports Sustainability Document, which is one of the qualitative initiatives that coincide with the UAE Sustainability Year 2023.
The sports sustainability document launched by the Mleiha Club at its headquarters based on its duty as a sports club and to achieve the goals of the Sharjah Sports Council in motivating society in general and athletes to respond to the requirements of sustainability in all its tracks.
Accordingly, the Director of the Mleiha Municipality, His Excellency Musabah Saif Awad Al Ketbi, signed the document, marking its launch and inaugurating its circulation in society among the institutions and stakeholders, which targets a large segment of the UAE’s dignitaries and athletes, to become part of this general national trend, and a priority of the sports sectors.
The sports sustainability document was also signed by His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Al Khasouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mleiha Club, stressing that this document, which carries important contents, summarises the club's directions in supporting the sustainability initiative launched by the Sharjah Sports Council in line with the UAE Sustainability Year 2023 AD and achieving the requirements of the Sharjah Sports Council Sustainability Award.
The document has been circulated by many entities and institutions and has been signed as an acknowledgment of its importance and implementation of its requirements.
This document comes after the club launched an initiative two days ago that came in the context of the same vision and was titled “Sustainability Ambassadors” to coincide with the club's larger goal in spreading the culture of sustainability throughout the club and its keenness to expand among the groups of the external community in enhancing their understanding of how to contribute positively towards a better life.
