ALA presents 36 volumes of ‘Historical Dictionary at ADIBF

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Arabic Language Academy, during its participation in the activities of the 32nd edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF), displays the first 36 volumes of the Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language, a project that records the history of Arabic words and their development over twenty centuries.

Held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, ALA is participating in a pavilion to spread awareness of the importance of the Arabic language and promote its use.

The event will continue until May 28.

The academy organises several educational and training events and workshops, motivating the Arab society to acquire more knowledge in the fields of language and culture, highlighting its role in supporting the Arabic language by presenting the Sharjah Award for Linguistic and Lexical Studies, awarded annually for the best study, research, or book that contributes to the elevation and preservation of the identity of the Arabic language.
