Sharjah 24: The symposium "Role of translating Italian literature in enriching Arab readers' culture" was organised by the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah (ALA) as part of the Emirate of Sharjah's participation in the activities of the sixth edition of the International Festival of Arabic Language and Culture (IFALC).
The Secretary General of the Arabic Language Academy, Dr. Mohammed Safi Al-Mostaghanemi, spoke at the symposium on the importance of translation as a cultural bridge between the world's many different civilisations and the close relationship between literature and translation.

ALA's participation in the festival held in Milan, Italy by the "Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore " under the theme "How Translation Contributed to Building Civilisations" was part of its mission to increase awareness of the Arabic language on the international cultural stage and to shed light on the contribution of the Arabic language to the development of human civilisation.

Over the course of three days, people who attend the sixth annual "International Festival of Arabic Language and Culture" will be able to take part in a wide range of cultural sessions and activities that show how important translation is in helping people from different backgrounds understand each other and get along in a class by itself, being beyond of time and space.
