Sharjah24: The Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work (SAVW) announced the results of the schools' competition for the "Sustainable Volunteering Competition", at the Culture Palace in Sharjah, in the presence of members of the Award's Board of Trustees, and several educational institutions heads.
6 schools from the public and private sector categories won, in addition to giving certificates as an appreciation to the schools participating in sustainable volunteer projects.

Dr. Jassim Al Hammadi, Secretary General of the SAVW, stated that the effectiveness of announcing the results of school competitions for "sustainable volunteering" comes within the framework of the award's commitment to support and encourage initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development in our societies, especially concerning the proper upbringing of children on volunteering. It also targets the authorities concerned with children and schools at the level of the United Arab Emirates.

Fatima Musa Al Balushi, Executive Director of the SAVW, explained that the competition witnessed active participation from various entities that work to develop and improve the environment for children. As a result, the number of submitted projects reached 53 participating projects, 9 from private schools and 44 government schools.

She added that the participating schools should be resided in the country and be licensed and registered by the competent authorities. Furthermore, the project must be within the specified period.
