Sharjah24: Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” carried out a number of field visits to a number of food and pharmaceutical factories in the free zones of Sharjah Customs Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, with the aim of enhancing permanent communication with the industrial sector and the business community.
Therefore, SEDD inspected the workflow in the food and pharmaceutical factories and their production and export programs. These visits aim to enhance direct communication between the Department and the owners of industrial establishments to identify their aspirations and the most important needs and challenges they face in order to sustain and develop the industrial sector and its activities.
In addition, SEDD delegation was also briefed on the mechanism of managing factories and the functioning of approved production lines supported by high-quality technical mechanisms. They also discussed a number of issues related to the reality of the industrial sector. During the visits, they reviewed the most important needs of the industrial sector in the Emirate of Sharjah as well.
Commenting on that, His Excellency Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, expressed the Department's appreciation for the support provided by Sharjah Customs Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority to the industrial establishments operating in their free zones, and their role in leaving a clear impact on the industries that characterize the emirate regionally and locally.
Al Suwaidi also stressed that SEDD, in coordination with various government agencies, pays great attention to continue working with all factories and companies operating in Sharjah to provide added value to the industrial sector in the emirate, and to support the efforts of the Sharjah government aimed at activating the role of the private sector to be a strategic partner in achieving sustainable economic development.
From his side, His Excellency Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA), indicated that such visit expresses the mutual concerns to enhance coordination and cooperation in providing innovative marketing channels and mechanisms for opportunities and the investment environment in Sharjah, and the qualitative capabilities, incentives and privileges that free zones provide. He carried on that such thing falls within the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to make Sharjah an attractive city for foreign industrial, commercial and service investments, and directly contribute to supporting the national economy.
Furthermore, Al Mazrouei indicated that this visit will contribute to the development of future areas of cooperation, in a way that meets the aspirations of the emirate's ambitious plans to enhance the goals of sustainable economic development. This can be attained through identifying the needs of investors in the two regions, and coming up with initiatives that attract and motivate potential investors in various sectors, in a way that supports UAE's programs in promoting sustainable industrial development.
On the other hand, Abdelaziz Omar Al Midfa, Deputy Director of Government Communication Department at SEDD, said that the Department's visits to the facilities of food and pharmaceutical factories in the emirate are part of its endeavor to enhance permanent and continuous communication with the local business community and to get acquainted closely with the reality of the economic sectors in general and the industrial sector in particular. This is achieved through exchanging views and opinions and mutual work to overcome any challenges that may hinder the growth and prosperity of industrial establishments, in addition to examining the level of quality of services provided to them.
Likewise, Al Midfa stressed that SEDD works continuously to intensify its field visits to identify the most important needs and challenges facing the business community and to ensure that they are addressed, in addition to enhancing the elements of success for the owners of factories and establishments. This is done in a way that contributes to the sustainability and development of companies and factories, leading to the development of the industrial sector in Sharjah. All of this is achieved by implementing frequent field visits, which would enhance the strategic partnership with the private sector and meet their needs, in order to provide an ideal business environment in the emirate and to attract more investments in the industrial sector.
For her part, Mariam Nasir Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of Industrial Affairs Department, pointed out that the services provided by SEDD to industrial establishments and factory owners provide a fast and sustainable work environment for business and activities. Also, it focuses on providing the required consultations and technical support to these factories in order to enhance the quality of their products and work to study all the challenges and difficulties they face. This is done to come up with results, recommendations and supportive decisions that enhance these industrial investments in the emirate of Sharjah.
Moreover, Mariam affirmed that the Department is concerned about supporting plans for the global expansion of companies and establishments operating in the emirate, supporting these companies in exporting their products to promising markets, as well as providing facilities and services that enhance the presence of these industrial companies in various countries of the world.
Also, the owners of factories and industrial establishments appreciated SEDD visit and the support provided by it to the private sector establishments. They also praised its relentless keenness and tireless efforts in promoting national industries in a way that contributes to the development of the industrial sector and serving its workers in the best way and providing them with appropriate support in a more effective manner.
