Al Hosani: 56,000 inspection tours were carried out by SEDD in Q1

Sharjah24: Rashid Al Hosani, Deputy Head of the Commercial Control Section at the Sharjah Economic Development Department, revealed that the department conducted an intensive inspection tour of shopping centres and markets in various Sharjah cities, as part of the department's preparations for Eid al-Fitr.

Al Hosani added to “Sharjah 24” that the inspection campaigns included all food service establishments, retail sales, barbershops and beauty salons, gold markets, and several other establishments, to ensure all establishments adhere to the law.

He pointed out that the total number of inspection campaigns carried out by the Department on the emirate’s markets during the first quarter of 2023 amounted to 56,643, compared to the number of inspection campaigns during the first quarter of 2022, with a growth of 36%. He added that according to the data issued by SEDD during the first quarter of this year, the total number of commercial and gold scales that have been calibrated reached 1268 scales, and the percentage of compatible scales conforming to the standards reached 98%.
