Sharjah 24: Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, the Chairman of the Ruler’s Office, inaugurated the innovative project "Virtual Reality Radar" at GITEX 2024, which took place at the Sharjah Police Headquarters platform within the Sharjah Government Pavilion.
The event saw the participation of Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, who serves as the Chairman of the Higher Committee of the Sharjah Government Pavilion at GITEX Global and is also the Director of Sharjah Digital Authority. Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, joined him along with various general managers and directors from the police and several officials from Sharjah.

Major General Abdullah Mubarak Bin Amer highlighted that these projects demonstrate the police force's ability to utilize innovation and advanced technology in order to service community security, improve societal safety, and proactively address modern crime at every level. This enhances the Sharjah Police's standing in the realm of digitization and artificial intelligence.

Sharjah Police showcased two innovative projects created by a team of skilled police professionals. The first project, "Virtual Reality Radar," employs artificial intelligence to detect instances of cyberbullying. This system oversees violations and breaches of virtual platform policies, blocks bullying messages, and reports them, effectively diminishing future cyberbullying incidents and fostering a secure digital environment for all users.

The second project, "Smart Education," aims to establish a secure digital community through the virtual family of Sand and Soun, the first Emirati virtual family. The project enhances security awareness in several languages across different criminal and security domains, such as cybercrime and AI-related offenses. It employs interactive learning methods to convey educational messages regarding the risks associated with these crimes.

Major General Bin Amer emphasized the significance of engaging in GITEX as an excellent opportunity to present innovative projects that are integral to the Sharjah Police's future strategy and in line with the UAE's vision for digital transformation and improving the quality of life in the emirate.

He highlighted the leadership's ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of innovation by embracing cutting-edge technologies to provide intelligent, forward-thinking solutions that align with future goals and enhance public services. He expressed his gratitude for the outstanding police skills that drove these groundbreaking projects—enhancing the security system and offering creative solutions to tackle contemporary security issues, thereby ensuring a safe and sustainable environment that caters to individual needs and adapts to swift technological progress.
