Sharjah 24: Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, the Cultural and Media Office of the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs organised the 3rd Family Media Forum (FMF).
The event took place over two days with the participation of 27 media professionals from the UAE and several Arab countries, recognising the important role of media in promoting societal and familial values and contributing to community stability.
The forum featured several platforms, which included presentations of workshops, dialogues, and various discussions that focused on important issues related to the relationship between media and the family's responsibilities.
The office also showcased a film about the role of media in family issues, and the first session of the forum began with a dialogue, featuring Egyptian media figure Dr. Ibrahim El Kurdani and Kuwaiti media personality Eman Al Najem, moderated by journalist Aisha Al Ruwaimi. The discussion covered several topics, including the challenges faced by families through media and the available opportunities to address these challenges.
Afterwards, Dr. Sherine Moussa, a professor of digital media at the Khawarizmi International College, presented a session titled “Media Education - Concept and Application”. The session included a paper titled “Communicating with families through media by employing artistic features," presented by Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of FUNN and the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth (SIFF).
