Sharjah24: Al Suyoh Suburb Council of the Sharjah Districts and Villages Affairs Department has concluded its Holy Quran competition, targeting the children of the residents of the suburb, aiming to encourage children to recite the Holy Quran.
The competition, which is being held in its first edition, has succeeded in motivating 24 participants, aged between five and fourteen, by filming the videos while reciting verses from the Holy Quran.
As part of the Council's keenness to encourage children from the suburbs to recite and memorise the Holy Quran, Al Suyoh Suburb Council held a ceremony at the council's headquarters in Sharjah, to honour the winners and participants, in the presence of His Excellency Youssef Obaid Harmoul Al Shamsi, Chairman of Al Suyoh Suburb Council, several dignitaries, as well as a large number of invitees and families.
The ceremony witnessed the honouring of the first places winners, including all the participants in the competition categories, as well as the jury.
Commenting on this, the Chairman of Al Suyoh Suburb Council has highlighted the keenness of the Council to adopt such events that promote social cohesion among the people of the suburb, lauding the remarkable success of the competition which translates the council’s vision.
