Sharjah24: Al Qasimia University (AQU) organised the 7th Ramadan Majlis, discussing "sustainability in the light of Islam" in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who declared the 2023 as the Year of Sustainability in the UAE, which embodies the interest of the UAE in achieving the goals of sustainable development and strengthening its efforts to preserve on the environment.
The Majlis hosted Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz Al-Haddad, Grand Mufti, Director of the Ifta Department at the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, and Dr. Aziz bin Farhan Al-Anazi, member of the Board of Trustees of Al-Qasimia University. The dialogue was moderated by a. Ali Al-Naqbi, Director of the University's Public Relations Department.
During the Majlis, the council lauded the vision of the UAE wise leadership to spread awareness of environmental sustainability issues, encouraging community participation and supporting the national strategies in this field, towards building a more prosperous future.
At the end of the Ramadan Council, which was held in the University’s theatre, His Excellency Jamal Salem Al Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University (AQU) honoured the two guests of the Council, praising their role in enriching the topic of the discussion.
