Sharjah24: The Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) cooperate with the American University of Sharjah (AUS) to hand over a house to one of the orphan's families, after performing extensive repairs on it. The initiative came as part of the "Walls" project, which aims to provide an appropriate living for orphans and their families.
The house was handed over in the presence of student affairs officials at the university and a number of representatives of the Foundation.
The "Walls" project is an initiative specialized in performing the required upkeep on the residences of the orphan families associated with the Foundation with the help and support of the local members thorough rehabilitation and restoration of the property, as the maintenance works were completed by AUS's members starting from removing the old furniture, doing the painting and remodeling work, installing new furniture as well as decorating the exterior garden.
"We welcome the participation of the American University of Sharjah through the Department of Community Service and the "Hand in Hand" team in the Walls project," said Nawal Al-Hamdi, Director of the Social Welfare Department. Nawal Al-Hamdi continued her speech by saying:" We are happy of our long-standing partnership with the American University, which enhances the reality of social solidarity amongst the institutions of society and since 2009, they have been one of our top collaborators in terms of financial support for the orphanage" .
