Sharjah24: Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) enrolled 32 students in the university admission course "IELTS", which was presented by a group of volunteer students in the American University of Sharjah in cooperation with the Department of Community Service and Institutional Communication at the university.
SSEF targeted orphaned high school students to develop their skills and helping them prepare for IELTS entrance exams.

These courses focus on identifying the components of the exam and the different types of questions, developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, helping them develop the vocabulary, and guiding them to effective skills and strategies for answering exam questions.

Nawal Al Hamdi, Director of the Social Welfare Department appreciated the great and proactive role played by the American University of Sharjah and its permanent and fruitful cooperation with the Foundation in supporting the education of orphans.

The initiative is part of the “Teach with a Pen” project concerned with empowering orphan students in all their educational stages, whether at school or university.
