The municipality raised its full readiness to deal with the weather and the rain emergency teams moved to deal with the water pools based on the pre-planned plans.
Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah City Municipality and head of the rain emergency team, confirmed that the field committees and work teams worked for more than 200 continuous hours in all areas of Sharjah city to withdraw rain pools and enhance the flow of traffic, as the municipality provided all the necessary equipment and tools, affirming that more than 185 mobile tanks and pumping stations, have worked around the clock without stopping.
Al-Tunaiji stated that the municipality has established more than 35 basins to collect rainwater resulting from withdrawal operations, and to benefit from it in various fields.
The head of the rain emergency team indicated that the call center received calls from the public around the clock, and during the depression it received 522 calls, which were transferred to the teams operating in the field, each according to its specialization, and were dealt with and followed up immediately.
