Sharjah24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the city of Sidi Bou Said in Tunisia witnessed the honouring of 4 Tunisian writers within the framework of the 11th edition of the Sharjah Cultural Honouring Forum (SCHF).
The Forum comes in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to honour literary figures that have contributed to the service of contemporary Arab culture.
The honouring ceremony was held at Al-Najma Al-Zahraa Palace in the historic city of Sidi Bou Said, in the presence of Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Department of Culture (SDC), Hayat Qatat Al Garmazi, Minister of Culture of Tunisia, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Cultural Affairs Department, and a group of intellectuals, writers, and the honorees.
The opening ceremony highlighted Sharjah’s role in supporting Arab creators, as well as reviewing the achievements of the four honorees.
Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Department of Culture (SDC) underscored at the beginning of his speech the importance of appreciating the efforts of literary scholars.
Al Owais conveyed the congratulations of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to the honorees, expressing his thanks to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
