Najd Al Maqsar
Sharjah 24: The historical village of Najd Al Maqsar in the city of Khorfakkan receives great attention and care from the Sharjah government, as it is subject to an integrated development project in line with its growing heritage and tourism value.
The village of Najd Al Maqsar is one of the oldest in "Al Sharqiya" mountains, and the most prominent evidence of the ancient history of the city of Khorfakkan, as it is full of many symbolic inscriptions dating back to about 2000 BC.

The village, which includes a historical fort, 13 houses that extend back more than 100 years, is characterised by its strategic location above the peaks of the Wadi Shi mountains, at an altitude of about 220 metres, where the visitor can see most parts of Khorfakkan from its summit.

Due to its historical value, which is confirmed by rocks engraved with symbols and images of animals dating back to about 2000 BC - according to studies - and its unique design, the village receives great attention from the Sharjah government, as His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, directed its restoration in 2020.

The village is undergoing a development project to revive it and add some service and tourism facilities. Shurooq is also working on implementing an integrated heritage hotel project in the village.
