Sharjah24: With its charming view of the most prominent landmarks of the city of #Kalba, the Clock Tower witnesses the development of the city of Kalba on the one hand, and its picturesque nature on the other hand, allowing the visitor to enjoy seeing the various parts of Kalba from a height exceeding 40 meters from its strategic location overlooking the University of Sharjah and #Kalba_Lake with its waterfront, and its most prominent streets.
The Tower, which was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in March, is the latest tourism facility in Kalba.
It is distinguished by the luxurious inscriptions and decorations that cover its four facades, with its Islamic architectural character, in addition to a distinctive golden dome that crowns the top of the tower.
The Clock Tower consists of 7 floors, with a height of 60 meters and a total building area of 668 meters. It includes administrative offices, prayer rooms for men and women, a tourist restaurant, with observation and control points for visitors on its fifth and seventh floors. It also includes among its corridors huge murals of the city of Kalba in the past and present.
The Tower is characterised by its huge clock with a diameter of 5 meters, which can be seen from all parts of Kalba, and in the vicinity of its circular square, there are 12 innovative water fountains that operate with the clock system, from which 60 miniature fountains branch out.
The tower opens its doors to visitors daily from 7 A.M. to 12 A.M., with a unified entry ticket of 5 dirhams, noting that the entry is free for children under 13 years old.
