Sharjah 24: For the ninth year in a row, the Friends of Kidney Patients (FOKP), an organisation under Sharjah's Supreme Council for Family Affairs' Health Promotion Department, has launched “Water for Kidney Health” campaign with the motto "With water, life blossoms" in an effort to protect kidney health.
Campaign organisers in the Emirate of Sharjah are teaming up with institutions like tourist destinations, government departments, and institutions in Sharjah to spread the word about the need to stay hydrated for everyone's health, but especially for the health of the workforce.
The Director of the FOKP, Mona Al Hawai Al Zarooni, said that since the group was started in 2007, it has helped raise awareness about kidney disease in the United Arab Emirates, treated and cared for patients, and given hospitals and clinics medical equipment and supplies.
She went on to say that the association's mission is to "improve the physical and psychological health of kidney patients, provide support to them, and promote health-related practices for all members of society" as per the directives of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Affairs in Sharjah.
