Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Municipality (SM) has identified a number of prohibited actions that users should refrain from performing when making use of the city's paid parking lots, and it has requested the public's assistance in enforcing regulations.
Hamed Al Qaed, Director of the Public Parking Department in Sharjah Municipality, confirmed that the municipality is organising daily inspection visits to monitor any violations and take action and necessary measures to prevent their happening again.
Al Qaed explained that there are 10 common behaviours that must be avoided when using the public parking service; they are: Occupying more than one parking space; obstructing traffic by parking behind parked vehicles; parking behind garbage containers; parking in bus stops, parking in prohibited or striped areas; parking on pavements; parking in closed dirt squares; parking on road curves, as well as parking within government buildings’ setbacks; and parking in special parking spaces for persons with disabilities.
