Cyber terrorism, according to Dubai's Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security, Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, may target anything from stock exchanges and banks to power plants and even driverless trains and hospital operating rooms.
To combat the rise of cybercrime, he urged police departments to invest in the education and training of young talent and future police officers in cutting-edge digital defences.
During the opening session of the event, titled "Current Challenges to Police Thinking," Lt. Gen. Tamim made these comments while presenting his paper on the topic.
The Director of the Police Research Centre, Brigadier General Dr. Khaled Hamad Al Hammadi spoke at the event, highlighting the Centre's ongoing efforts to integrate police ideas with scientific research.
Current difficulties in police thought, the digital platform for research and development, and the improvement of police thinking were all topics of discussion during the event.
The last session, "How to Enrich Police Thought?" was delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al Maleeh, Head of the Scientific Research Department of the Sharjah Police Research Centre and marked the conclusion of the forum's events.
