Sharjah 24: Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) concluded its participation at Thessaloniki International Fair 2022.
This event was held in Thessaloniki, Greece during the period 10-18 September 2022 and constitutes a unique opportunity through which the business and investment in UAE can be presented.
The event is considered an important platform for promotion in Greece and the Balkans due to the location of Thessaloniki and its long history in the Balkan countries. Thessaloniki was chosen because it is the second largest economic, industrial and commercial centre in Greece, is an important transportation centre in southeastern Europe, and is an important educational and cultural centre for the Balkans.
During the event, meetings were held with a number of senior officials in the government and private sectors to discuss ways of cooperation in the economic and commercial fields, discuss investment opportunities offered by Sharjah, and exchange information on the most prominent economic sectors.
Commenting on that, Abdelaziz Omar Al Midfa, Deputy Director of Government Communication Department at SEDD, said that the department always pays attention to participate in economic forums, whether at the local, regional or global levels, in order to introduce the advantages offered by the Emirate of Sharjah to investors and to promote economic development in the Emirate.
He stressed that SEDD work continuously with local and federal authorities, led by the Ministry of Economy, in order to attract investments to various economic sectors in Sharjah, due to the Emirate's investment opportunities characterised by advanced infrastructure and high efficiency.
He pointed out that the services provided by the department to investors are a major attraction for the business sector, as working on developing the Emirate's economy is one of SEDD’s main tasks to achieve economic well-being and attain sustainable development.
He added that the event helps to discuss ways to review the opportunities available to increase trade and investment exchanges, especially in the sectors of innovation and small and medium enterprises.
He expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Economy for the role it plays in facilitating such international partnerships, which contribute to strengthening work between the various government entities in the country.
