SEDD, Umm Al Quwain’s counterpart enhance cooperation

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) received a delegation from the Department of Economic Development in Umm Al Quwain, to discuss ways of cooperation and see the best practices in commercial control and protection and mechanisms for implementing metrological services in the field, as well as exchanging experiences and promoting joint work between the two sides, in order to achieve integration, coordination and effective harmonisation among them.
During the meeting, the services provided by the department in the field of control, commercial protection and legal standards and their impact on protecting both the merchant and the consumer were reviewed. The two sides also discussed many common issues that are in the public interest, as they exchanged ideas on some of the procedures followed. The Umm Al Quwain economic delegation learned about the structure and work strategy followed in common areas, in addition to the latest technologies and solutions used in the SEDD.

Common matters and mechanisms and ways to enhance cooperation in order to provide all capabilities to the business sector, investors and dealers, and contribute to achieving sustainable economic development were also tackled during the meeting.

SEDD stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination among the various government agencies in the country in various fields, the need to exchange experiences, transfer knowledge, and clarify the capabilities of all parties and how to benefit from and disseminate them.

The Umm Al Quwain delegation thanked the warm reception and speed of response they received from the SEDD. They also affirmed their keenness to enhance cooperation and coordination with the SEDD in a way that contributes to the development of the system of joint work to find outputs that serve all parties to advance the levels of service provided to investors, which contributes to the state's trend towards building a strong economy that is characterised by knowledge and sustainability, supports attracting foreign investments in all sectors, and enhances the country's competitiveness at the global level.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation in line with the government service standards that the federal and local government aspire to, and they praised the importance of holding such meetings in the future because of their role in accelerating development processes and enhancing the investment movement in the country.
