UoS Chancellor meets Molecular Medicine PhD students

Sharjah24: His excellency, Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah (UoS) met, during his visit to the University of Lübeck, Germany, with the Molecular Medicine PhD scholarship students from the UoS within the dual doctorate agreement between the two universities, who are expected to graduate as the third batch of this year. His excellency also met with student and their supervisors and discussed the progress of their research and reviewed their findings.
During the visit, the chancellor along with Prof. Qutayba Hamid, Vice Chancellor for Medical Colleges and Health Sciences and Dean of College of Medicine, discussed ways to expand the cooperation to include the College of Computing and Informatics, establish a joint artificial intelligence center that relies on wind energy in Germany and on solar energy in Sharjah. It is noteworthy that a group of faculty members of the University of Lübeck have been invited to attend the 9th Emirati-German Congress, which will be held at the UoS on November, 2022.

At the end of the visit, the UoS’s delegation visited the newly established teaching hospital of the University of Lübeck with a capacity of 1,000 beds, as well as explored its facilities and reviewed the progress of the work especially in the field of teaching and the clinical training, as it is a great example of a teaching hospital for the practical training of UoS’s students. Thereafter, the delegation met with some department’s heads of the hospital and discussed ways of joint cooperation in the medical fields. The delegation was received by prof. Saleh Ibrahim, Coordinator of the Dual PhD Program and Prof. Nicola Abou Tara, Advisor, B.G. Hospital, and Coordinator of the Emirati-German Congress.
