Sharjah24: Under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UoS), the UoS is pleased to announce the launch of the activities of the “Third Forum for Women in Research” entitled "Quwa: Women Empowerment for Global Impact" on Aug 25, 2022, organised by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research & Graduate Studies, coinciding with Emirati Women’s Day.
The forum aims to encourage women to excel in scientific fields by presenting women's achievements in various fields of scientific research at the UoS, as well as shedding light on prominent events that focus on the role of women in the United Arab Emirates and the Arab Region. It is worth noting that this annual forum has been a success in the previous two years, with participation from a variety of local universities and institutes. This year's participation at the third forum has grown, with over 64 universities from the UAE and the GCC region taking part, which will inspire women to continue to learn, develop skills in various fields, and contribute to global development.
This forum will include 22 grants in three research categories that will address the most important issues, subjects, and challenges of research in a variety of fields such as Pharmacy, Health Sciences &
Digital Health, Medicine, Engineering, Sciences, Computing & Informatics, Communication, and Business Administration. The best research work will also be announced, as faculty and students have submitted over 379 research papers in the months since the forum was announced.
Participants of the forum will include a number of researchers from around the world, supported by sponsors and strategic partners including NAMA Women Advancement, Sharjah Electricity Water & Gas Authority (SEWA), Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), Emirates NBD Group, Pfizer, with the participation of 75 community partners.
